James Clyde Brooks, 96, of Radford, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Radford and retired from the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant. He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lora Brooks; wife, Betty L. Brooks; brother, Clifford Dennis Brooks; and sister, Loma Huffine. Survivors include a sister, Esther Caroline Brooks.; nephews, Tracy Brooks, Dennis Brooks and Mike Drummond; nieces, Debra Hite and Lora Drummond; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Dr. Paul Lane officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, VA 24141.
