James Lee Bailey, 87, of Beechgrove, TN, formerly of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012. He retired from Hercules with 36 years of service and was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during WWII and a member of VFW Post #776 in Radford. Survivors include his wife Ruth M. Bailey of Pulaski; sister Margaret B. Jones of Beechgrove, TN; half-sisters Sharon Jenkins of Boones Mill and Agnes Wooten of Harmony, NC; and sister-in-law Grace Bailey of Princeton, WV. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Charles Sanders officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin where members of VFW Post 776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church Capital Improvement Fund, 6900 Pulaski Ave., Fairlawn, VA 24141. The Bailey family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
