Iva Dale Jones Duncan, 67, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014. She was a 38 year employee of New River Industries and retired from MOOG. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Estellene Shelor Jones. Dale is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ira H. Duncan; daughters and son-in-law, Vickie and Darren Lawson of Fairlawn, and Tammy Duncan of Christiansburg and her fianc John "Jay" Meriwether of Pulaski; stepson and his wife, Tommy and Kathy Hackworth of Kernersville, NC; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar and Betty Jones of Floyd, and Roger and Teresa Jones of Christiansburg; and sisters, Dinah Mabry and Sue Bailey, both of Dublin. The family would like to thank the staff of Radford Health and Rehab, Dr. Charles Judy and his staff, and everyone at New River Valley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Leukemia Society.
