Irvin Willard Perdue, 78, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Radford, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia to Charlie James and Ola Howery Perdue. And was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Roanoke Electric Steel. He was a member of Americal Legion #129 - Carolina Beach. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Norma Jean Viars Perdue, and a daughter, Sharon Chandler. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Bruce Orange of Dublin, and Lori Ann Perdue of Wilmington, NC; son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Perdue of Pilot; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Hypes and Shirley Akers, both of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with Rev. John Tibbs officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Perdue family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
