Howard Douglas Buck Hill, 71, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at his home in Christiansburg. He was a US Army veteran and retired from Virginia Tech after 31 years in the printing department. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest J. and Nellie Pannell Hill, and a sister Doris Smith. Survivors include his wife Patty Proco Hill of Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law Mike and Leslie Hill of Christiansburg; two granddaughters Emily and Kari Hill; a brother and sister-in-law Claude and Elizabeth Hill of Fairlawn; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Carilion Hospice, 700 Randolph St., Radford, VA 24141. The Hill family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
