Herbert Eugene Kirtner, 81, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home in Floyd. He was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Floyd and retired from Lynchburg Foundry after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Air Force and the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Kirtner. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Wanda M. Kirtner; daughter, Ashley Kirtner of Radford; brother, John Kirtner, Jr. of Floyd; and he was father to many that are too numerous to list. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with Pastor Shannon Hicks officiating.
