Helen Margaret McNew Wood, 82, of Radford, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009. She was born in Welch, WV, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Mary Elizabeth Ridenger McNew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Bunyan Wood. Survivors include two sons, Van E. Wood and Philip M. Wood; 6 grandchildren Gilbert Wood, Prencie Wood, Helen Wood, Philip Wood, Marthalena Wood and Elisabeth Wood; and 6 great-grandchildren Angel Wood, Emily Wood, Luken Wood, Meghan Wood, Princeton Ortiz and Paris Ortiz. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jeremiah Turner Cemetery in Patrick County with Mr. James Dunlap officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. The Wood family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
