Hayden Benford Pete Simpkins, 73, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009 at his home in Hiwassee. He was preceded in death by a son; Hayden B. Simpkins, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Mallie Jane Simpkins of Snowville; a daughter, Betty Sue Proffitt of Parrott; a son, Timothy Wayne Simpkins of Oakwood; a sister Goldie Christine Simpkins of Snowville; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating. Interment will follow in the Simpkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the Cornersview Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Simpkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
