Harold Robert Cressell, Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his home in Fairlawn. He was a U. S. Navy veteran. Although Harold had been retired from painting for many years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR racing and football. He also had a love for his family that was compared to no other. He will be remembered as living his younger life quite spirited and living life as he saw fit. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Cressell, Sr., and a daughter. Survivors include his wife, Doris F. Cressell of Fairlawn; mother, Rosie Lang Cressell of Fairlawn; daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Gordon Huff of Pulaski, Freda and Eddie Holbrook of Radford, Deborah and Terry Pfund of Galax, and Gail and Dennis Schernerhorn of Galax; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Wayne and Renee Cressell of Brooklett, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Zane Cox officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
