Goldie Harris Turpin, 86, of Radford, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. She retired from Pulaski County Schools after working in the cafeteria for many years. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Red" Turpin, and her parents, Golden Pierce and Josephine Duncan Harris. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rena Turpin; daughter and son-in-law, Rena and Jerry Rickey; grandsons, Travis Turpin and his wife Chrissy, Ryan Turpin, and Andrew Rickey; great-grandson, Grant Turpin; sister, Sylvia H. Dobbins; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Radford Nursing and Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for the loving care. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Elder Thomas Pegram and Elder Lowell Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
