Glenn Jerry Cobbs, 70 of Radford, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church and retired after 30 years from Volvo Trucks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn H. and Sarah Naomi Hendricks Cobbs. Survivors include his wife, Brenda C. Cobbs of Radford, four daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Ernest Hodge of Dublin, Daphene and Cordral Dudley of Prince George, Glenda and Darrell Hewitt of Hickory, NC, and Vickie Cobbs of New River; three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn J. and Lucreda Cobbs, Jr. of Triangle, Michael and Jamie Cobbs of Roanoke, and Gary Cobbs of Rockville, MD; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Zia Cobbs of New River; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Edward Blake and Ethel Taylor, both of Radford; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Marcus Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The Cobbs family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
