Gladys Ann Flinchum, 69, of Parrott, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was employed with Radford University in housekeeping. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Clifford and Verland Sifford Bane, son, William J. Flinchum, brothers and sister-in-law, Stanley R. Bane and George H. and Mildred Bane, and sisters and brother-in-law, Ruby and Red Davis, and Ellen Bane. Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Ann Flinchum of Parrott; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Allen, Jr. and Deona Flinchum of Plum Creek and Vernon Lee and Amanda Flinchum of Blacksburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nomia and Wiley Goad of Parrott and Eunice and Jimmy Foster of Radford; grandchildren, Frankie, Aric, Cody, Haley, Bryan, Cameron, Pamela and William "BJ" Flinchum, Richard Harless, and Michelle Sadler; six great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Selena East. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Dr. Jon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Sifford Cemetery in Parrott. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Friendship Baptist Church, 1708 Carriage Road, Riner, Virginia 24149.
