Charles Gillis Mitchell, 69, of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Gillis had a winning, laid back personality and a calm demeanor. He loved baseball, fishing, and camping with his friends. Gillis was a proud U. S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Roscoe Mitchell and Izola Boothe Kingrea; and his brother, Roger Mitchell. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Jack "Carson" and Diane Mitchell; his sister, Dinah Morris; stepfather, Bobby Kingrea; brother-in-law, Johnny Morris; sister-in-law, Bonnie Mitchell; good friend, Richard "Pickle" Harless; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. Brian Mitchell officiating.
