Gertrude Thomas Simpson, 93, of Dublin, Va., (formerly of Belspring) passed away at her home Saturday, January 13, 2024. Gertrude was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother (MawMaw). She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maude Thomas; husband of 58 years, Thomas William Simpson; son, Thomas William Simpson, Jr.; grandson, Brian Simpson; and siblings, Thelma Foss, Mary Jane Heldreth, and Frank Thomas, Jr. Survivors include daughters, Sandra Joseph and Jackie Payne; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Intrepid Hospice staff for their care and compassion. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. Marcus Harrison officiating.
