Obituary

George Marion, Jr., 81, of Dublin, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Joann Douglas Marion. He was a U. S. Marine having served during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Pepper Grocery in Fairlawn for many years and spent his later years as a motorcycle mechanic. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Mac Crouse of Dublin; two sons and daughter-in-law, George Michael Marion of Fairlawn, and Garry Wade (Earl) and Debbie Marion of Holden Beach, NC; sister, Ruby Moser of Mt. Airy, NC; five grandchildren, Susan Brumfield, Greg Crouse, Jeremy Marion, Julie Williams and Jaimee Williams; 8 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Bobby Lytton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Bobby Lorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:30 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the VFW Post #776, 402 Ninth Street, Radford, Virginia 24141. The Marion family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
