Gene Thomas Tallant, 66, of Dublin, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009. He was a member of the Fairlawn Church of God. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry and currently employed with Securitas at Volvo. Survivors include his wife, Elma Mae Thompson Tallant; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Thomas and Gladys Ann Tallant; a daughter, Angela Mae Tallant, all of Dublin; three grandchildren Monique, Thomas and Amanda Tallant; two great-grandchildren, Destinee Landreth and Brice Wall; three brothers, William Tallant of Radford, John Tallant of Warrenton, and Charles Tallant, Jr. of Pulaski; and three sisters Louise Robbins of Fairlawn, Barbara Akers of Dublin and Sarah Tallant of Radford. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Terry Bowden officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Tallant family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
