Gary Wayne Merryman, 69, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his home in Christiansburg. He was a retired Regional Sales Director for Burndy and a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Ethel Marie White Merryman, sister, Carol Zehm, and his grandparents who raised him, Harold and Mary Wilgus. He is survived by his wife, Kay Robbins Merryman of Christiansburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Marcy and Harold McGuire of Christiansburg, and Jamye and Bobby Jones of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kalynn McGuire, Emily McGuire, Justin Jones, Megan Jones and Holly Jones; great granddaughter, Kendra Meredith; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Merryman, and Mark and Sherry Merryman, all of Elyria, OH; sisters-in-law, Sharon Shelley of Crossville, TN and Robin Jones of Elyria, OH; brothers-in-law, Gene Brown of Bridge City, TX and Buddy Robbins of Crossville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home with Rev. James Jordan speaking at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. The Merryman family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
