Gary Wayne Collins, 72, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Bruce and Dorothy Dalton Collins; daughter, Jennifer Collins; nephew, Stephen; and his special cousins, JoAnn and Russel Cleak. Survivors include his daughters, Crystal Collins and Sarah Collins (Julian Simmons); step-daughter, Jessica Wall (Christopher Eastridge); fianc, Carolyn Alger; grandchildren, Dorothy Martin, James Atkinson, Mckayla Martin, Timothy Martin, Dezaray Atkinson, Christopher Long, Junior Atkinson, Dalton Atkinson, Corey Long, Elijah Drayton, James Bennett, Aubrey Simmons, Carter Simmons, and Leland Eastridge; great-grandchildren, Amythyst Straley-Martin, Luke Straley-Martin, and Jordan Wickline-Atkinson; sister, Tammie Rupe (Bobby); niece, Corey; nephew, Parker; former wife and special friend, Phoebe Collins; and many other relatives and friends. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
