Garry Joseph Ratcliffe, 54, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home in Christiansburg. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and retired from Montgomery County Schools Maintenance Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Joseph and Betty Jean Lawson Ratcliffe, his daughter, Lisa Jeannette Hall Ratcliffe, and a niece, Amber Nicole Ratcliffe. Survivors include his wife Doris L. Ratcliffe; his son, Nicholas N. Hall Ratcliffe of Greenville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Shirley Ratcliffe and Doug Ratcliffe, all of Dublin, David and Ann Ratcliffe of Riner, and Roger Shanklin of Roanoke; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Bud Kirtner of Draper, Teresa R. and Dennis Bailey of Pilot, and Susie and Donald Robertino of Conn. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. David McNeil officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation or the American Lunge Foundation.
