Franklin Delano Roosevelt Sutphin, 79, of Dublin, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. He was a U. S. Army veteran and retired supervisor with the New River Resource Authority in Pulaski County with 15 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Grayden and Minnie Pearl Akers Sutphin, and his daughter, Druscilla Dawn Sutphin. Survivors include sisters, Sibil Lester of Riner, and Gwen Smith of Salisbury, NC; brother, Draper Sutphin of Bedford; granddaughter, Frances Ruby Van Dusen of Orlando, FL; 5 great-grandchildren; special friends that are like family, Sammie Dalton and her family of Pulaski, and Kenny Stoots of Radford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The Sutphin family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
