Obituary

Everette Lawrence Wampler, 81, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 in INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born in West Virginia, the son of the late Ira Lawrence and Garnie Hess Wampler. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a retired electrical engineer. Survivors include his wife, Bette Williams Wampler of Radford; his children and their spouses, Dana Douglas of Reston, Dean and Ann Wampler of Chicago, IL, and Steven and Susan Wampler of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, David, Michael and Sarah Wampler of Austin, TX; and three sisters-in-law, Marie Abee and Peggy Hammond, both of Radford, and Barbara Williams of Roebuck, SC. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Jills House, P.O. Box 9104, McLean, VA 22102 or at jillshouse.org. The Wampler family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
