Eula Gay Weeks Hurd, 91, formerly of Radford, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. She received her nursing certification in 1943 and retired after 35 years spent helping others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Ada Weeks; her husband, James Madison Hurd; and one brother and six sisters. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William M. and Margaret H. Hurd of Roanoke; grandchildren and their spouses, William Hurd, Jr. and Heather of Hiwassee, Allison Dinkel of Christiansburg, and Jackie Lynn Arbogast and Tim of Roanoke; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Chris Arbogast, Landon and Sarah Dinkel, and Elizabeth, Josh and Matthew Click; sisters, Willie Farris of Salem and Kate Keffer of New Castle; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Carawan officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
