Etta Mae Sister Jones, 97, passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 at her home in Radford. She was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church in Union, SC and attended Grove United Methodist Church in Radford for the past 10 years. She was a retired public school teacher with 46 years of service and also worked at Belks in Union for 30 years. She was born May 5, 1908 in Union, SC, the daughter of the late Walker and Jessie Caldwell Jones. Survivors include a special cousin and her husband, Judith Rebecca Jenkins and James Durham of Radford; special grandchildren, David Durham and his wife Melissa, of Radford, and Mary Kathryn Durham of Little Rock, Arkansas; special great-grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan Durham of Radford; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Duncan Acres United Methodist Church in Union, SC with Rev. Tommy Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Union. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to either the Duncan Acres United Methodist Church or the Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Duncan Acres United Methodist Church. The Jones family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
