Ernest (Sonny) Wade Dudley, 83, of Radford, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009. He was retired from the Electrical Dept. at Hercules after 40 years of service and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Dudley and his sister, Peggy Bowden and brother Eppie Dudley. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Terry C. and Patty Dudley of Springboro, OH; daughter and son-in-law S. Diane and Rickey Gravley of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law Shirley Ann and Pug Akers of Radford; four grandchildren Terry Craig, Jr., Dereck Todd, Tyler Gearheart and Melanie N. Yates; seven great-grandchildren; very special friend Ila Jean Staton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2009 at 12 Noon at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Barry VanSteenburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockford UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm until 4 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Lions Club. The Dudley family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
