Elwood Simpkins, 63, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at his home in Radford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemon Benny and Christaleen Viers Simpkins, and three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include three sisters and brother-in-law, Julia Brightwell and special friend, Randy Phillips, Taxi Fagg and Eva and Tas Odell; five brothers and sisters-in-law, George T. and Malieta Simpkins, Joe and Sue Simpkins, Avery and Shirley Simpkins, J. D. Simpkins, and Brady and Judith Simpkins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1 pm at the West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. James Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Sunday evening at the Mullins Funeral Home. The Simpkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
