Elsie Marie Stanger Cox, 91, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Heritage Hall in Blacksburg. She was a lifelong member of Rockford United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nyal and Nannie Mae Stanger; husband, Silas Norwood Cox; brother, Marshall Stanger; and sister, Melva Phillips. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Burton Cobb, and Melva Ann and Larry Hall, all of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Timothy Otey, Tracy Crosier and Nicole Hall; and great grandchildren, Brandon Crosier and Timothy Otey, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Keith Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Rockford Church Cemetery in Fairlawn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff for all the love and care they provided Mrs. Cox during her stay at Heritage Hall.
