Obituary

Elizabeth Weddle Akers, 81, of Fairlawn, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. She was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harman Noblin Akers, Sr., son-in-law, Glenn Quesenberry and parents, Martha and Cephas Weddle. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Martha Quesenberry, and Sheila and Andrew Hamblin, all of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Harman N., Jr. and Vicky Akers of Dublin; grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Michael Hall, Glenn W. Quesenberry, II, Josh and Heather Akers, Jeff and Autumn Quesenberry, Susan and Chris Price, Tony Hamblin and Maranda Hamblin; step grandchildren, Isaac Harris and Austin Younce; great grandchildren, Austin and Ryan Hall, Makenzie Quesenberry, Kyleigh and Hunter Akers, Mary Beth Duncan, Dakoda Harrison, and Alexis Quesenberry; brother, Frank Weddle of Walton; sister-in-law, Shirley Akers of Barren Springs; brother-in-law, Charles "Bill" Galt of Mooresville, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to thank her special loving caregivers Joyce Taylor, Thelma Smith, Kelly Litchford, Debbie Taylor, Teresa Cromer and Joan Carter, Radford Health and Rehab staff, the staff of Commonwealth Assisted Living at Radford, and Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends from 9 until 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Rockford United Methodist Church in Fairlawn. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ginny Tompkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
