Eleanor Trail Myers peacefully passed away on March 10. She was born on March 23, 1925. She is predeceased by husband Harvey M. Myers, parents James and Jeanie Trail and daughter Alice M. Bain. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Hedge and son and daughter in law Robert and Judi Myers. She is also survived by brothers James, Tom, Robert and Dan Trail and sisters Cora Simpkins and Judy Sarver as well as 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The name Eleanor means shining light. This is so fitting for a woman whose life touched everyone near her. Eleanor's smile and eyes could make your whole day brighter. She loved to laugh and loved visiting with all her family and neighbors. She never met a stranger. Eleanor took the job of being a wife and mother very seriously and took pride in keeping an immaculate home and raising three wonderful children who always called her momma. Anyone can be a mother but it takes someone very special to be momma. She tended to her husband with great compassion thru various illnesses until his death. Though her body was tiny, her strength was unimaginable. Eleanor's kitchen was always prepared for kids, then grandkids, then great grandkids. After family gatherings, a dispute would always ensue as to who got her leftover mashed potatoes. She fed our stomachs and filled our hearts. Eleanor spent much of her time outdoors giving attention to her yard work and most importantly all the flowers she loved to grow each year. Her rest time was spent sitting on the porch feeling the breezes in her hair and waving to all the passersby. She always had a smile ready, no matter the circumstances. The family asks that in lieu of flower arrangements that you plant a flower in honor of Eleanor this spring and take an extra moment to enjoy the sunshine on your face and beauty around you as she always did.
