Edward Jones Leonard, 81, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2011. Ed was a graduate and active alumnus of the U. S. Naval Academy class of 1952. He was a highly decorated U.S Air Force pilot, who proudly served his country for 22 years, both stateside and in combat in Vietnam. He continued serving his country for an additional 19 years as a Federal Employee with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Josephine "Dolly" Leonard of Radford VA, son Tom and wife Terry Leonard of North Topsail Beach, NC, daughter Kathy and husband Tom Lillard of Radford, VA, grandchildren Kevin, Rachel, and Kasey Lillard, of Radford, VA, Tommy Leonard of Alexandria, VA, Eliza Miramontes and great granddaughter Liliana Miramontes of Winchester, VA, brother Daniel B., II and wife Giovanna Adimari Leonard of Malvern, PA. He will always be remembered and deeply loved by the numerous lives he touched. The family's heartfelt thanks goes out to the incredible staff at the Arbors in the Kroontje Health Care Center, Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg. The care, kindness and devotion they showed to Ed and our family will remain with us forever. Funeral services, with full military honors will be conducted at the Old Post Chapel, Ft.
