Edith Evelyn Taylor Cruise February 1, 1933 - April 30, 2015 Edith Evelyn Taylor Cruise went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2015 She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend. She lived in Radford most of her life and was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon V. Taylor Sr. and Nannie Buckland Taylor of Radford, a brother, Amos Taylor of Rural Retreat, three sisters, Ora Mae Seawell of Roanoke, Sue Taylor of Radford, and Joanne Payne of Radford, and a grandson, Dakota Greer of Pulaski, Survivors are her five children, Duwayne and Lisa Taylor of Pulaski, Paul and Dianne Duncan of Virginia Beach, Melissa and Terry Phillips of Daleville, Bryan S. Cruise of Virginia Beach, and Lynn and Douglas Greer of Woodlawn. One brother, Vernon V. Taylor Jr. and Polly Taylor of Graham, N.C., and one sister Ruth Ferris of Montvale. A sister in law, Mary Lee Taylor of New Palestine, Ind. Four grandsons, Wesley Duncan of Indian Valley, Duwayne Taylor Jr. and Stacie Zoch of Pulaski, Derrian Greer of Woodlawn, and Terrance Phillips of Daleville, two granddaughters Miranda Duncan of Virginia Beach, and Mackenzie Phillips of Daleville. Three step grandsons Lonnie Rumpf, David Frey, and Jonathan Alley, and five great grandchildren Angela and Morgan Duncan, and Lonnie, Macy and Jessica Rumpf. She attended Gethsemane Baptist Church for many years and was a devoted Christian. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday May 4, 2015 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 2006 Preston St., Radford, Va. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11a.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Hickman Cemetery in Fairlawn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
