Edgar "Sonny" William Smith, 81, of Dublin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Born April 10th, 1942, to the late Otto and Helen Smith of Dublin. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Audna Smith McCoy of Roanoke, and Evelyn Smith of Dublin. Sonny spent 60+ years driving a truck and he excelled and enjoyed his chosen profession. He was fun loving and a friend to so many. He was funny and witty and could drive anything with wheels. He loved going to the beach for bike week and being with his friends and family. He also loved messing with his old tractor. He loved his kids and was a proud PawPaw. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Wanda Smith of Dublin; his daughters, Tami Smith of Dublin and Tina Smith of Dublin; sons, Anthony "Tony" Smith of Dublin, and Tim (Ashley) Smith of Pulaski; stepson, Rusty Carroll of Radford; grandchildren Taylor Carroll, Chase Carroll, Jaxon Smith and Londyn Smith; brother, John Smith of Dublin; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 9 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor Marcus Harrison officiating.
