Doris Brown Viers, 79, of Radford, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired nursing assistant at St. Alban's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Viers; parents, John Henry and Juanita Coalson Brown; granddaughter, Carrie Smith; sisters, Betty Layton and Mary Jane Cochran; and brother, John "Dickie" Brown. Survivors include daughter and sons-in-law, Diana and Kingsley Booth of Sparta, N.C., and Teresa and Kevin DeWalt of Texas; grandsons, Wesley Viers and his wife Megan, and Christopher Viers; great grandchildren, Madison, Preston, Joseph, Lilly-Ann, Gavin, Ware, and Kip; sister, Dorothy Hyler of Richmond, Va.; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
