Doris Wickham Sowers, 76 of Radford, passed away Sunday July 29, 2007. She was a retired Laboratory Technician a Radford Army Ammunition Plant. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Radford. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents James Edward and Thelma Gilmore Wickham Sr. and two brothers James Edward Wickham Jr. and Ray Wickham. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Clarence Edwin Sowers of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Marie Sowers of Radford; daughter, Rita S. Quesenberry of Radford; brother, Frank Daniel Wickham of Collinsville; one sister, Ethel Pauline Rhodes of Ft. Pierce, FL; and four grandchildren and their spouses, Charlie Quesenberry, Jessie and Donald Norris, Katie and James Hinkley, and Daniel Sowers, Jr.; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Mae Norris; four sisters-in-law and spouses, Norma Jean and Freddie Bishop of Radford, Gertrude and Walton Buckland of Indianapolis, IN, Lilly Mae and Tommy Trigg of Dearborn, MI, and Mary Ann and Lakie Linkous of Radford; and two brothers-in-law and spouse, Billy Ray and Barbara Sowers of Radford and Tommy and Jo Sowers of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church in Radford with Rev. O.D. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friend Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home.The Sowers family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
