Doris Nellie Neel, 86, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home in Fairlawn. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Neel, parents, Thomas and Barbara Helton, and two sons, David N. Neel and Kenneth Ray Neel. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Peggy Neel of Fairlawn, and Dan and Kathy Neel of Roanoke; sisters and brother-in-law Iris and Ben Bentley of Hendersonville, NC, and Mae Drumheller of Baltimore, MD; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Karen Harman of Connecticut, and Bud Harman of War, WV; grandchildren and their spouses , Joshua Thomas Neel of Radford, Misty Lynn and Travis Lane of Dublin, Stacy and Dennis Stout of Port Neches, TX, Shannon and Rand Holtham of Port Neches, TX, David and Holly Neel of Radford, Beverly Romain of Christiansburg, Jennie and Charlie Dillon of Spring, TX, and Johnnie and Dawn Trout of Holt, MI; special great-grandchildren, Coplin, Michael, Nicholas, Brandon, and Madison Neel all of Radford; 14 other great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a special adopted grandchild, Brittany Hamilton Funeral services will be conducted Friday October 4, 2013 at 11 am at the Dublin Christian Church with Pastor Terry Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of the service. Graveside services will follow at 2 pm at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dublin Christian Church, 5605 Dunlap Road, Dublin, VA 24084.
