Doris Ann Fugate Cullop, currently of Chilhowie, Virginia passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday October 17, 2013. Doris was born April 9, 1935 and grew up in St. Charles, VA where she was valedictorian of the class of 1952. She graduated from Radford College in 1956 where she was the SGA president during her senior year. Later, she received her Master's Degree in History also from Radford College. During the 1960's and 1970's she taught at Marion High School and was very active in her community and First Baptist Church in Marion, Virginia. She will be remembered for her creativity, musical talent, brilliance and as a loving teacher. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and ClaraTalton Fugate of St. Charles, Virginia and her husband, Elmer Lee Cullop of Marion. She is survived by her brother William Fugate and wife Andrea Faulkner of Rochester, NY; her two sisters, Helen Fugate Mohror and husband Robert of Vinton, VA and Clara Ruth Fugate of Radford, VA. She is also survived by her nieces Katie Mohor Shillingford, Jennifer Mohror Porter, Sarah Mohror Sowers and Maggie Holliman; and her nephew, William Holliman. The family expresses much gratitude to the 2nd floor staff of Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Virginia for their kind, respectful and loving care of Doris. Funeral arrangements are made by Mullins Funeral Home of Radford. Visitation will be October 28, 2013 at 5:00 PM at Mullins Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 6:00 PM. Burial will be on October 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Round Hill Cemetery in Marion, VA.
