Donnie Ray Cook, 75, of Max Meadows, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was a master brick mason. Donnie was well known in his community and was a father figure and "Daddy" to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Rogers Cook. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Cook and his son, Jeffrey Dwayne Cook, both of Max Meadows; grandsons, Kyle Landon Cook and Wesley Dale Brickey; brother and sister-in-law, Howard M., Jr., and Katie Cook of Roanoke; canine companions, Baby and Phoenix; and many other "children" and friends.
