David Ray Rodden, Sr., 53 of Radford, loving husband and father, passed away Saturday, September 09, 2006. He was a member of the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church, a retired employee of New River Industries and was a veteran of the US Marines having served during the Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rodden and Ellen N. Metzger, and a brother, Jimmy Rodden. Survivors include his wife, Karen Eastburn Rodden of Radford; daughter, Sarah E. Rodden of Radford; son, David R. Rodden, Jr. currently serving in the US Army in Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Jane Vaught of Pembroke and Anna Phillips of FL; brother, Eddie Rodden of Fla.; mother-in-law, Sylvia Eastburn; and special pets, Jack and Jasmine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Woodard and Rev. Shirley Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mullins Funeral Home. The Rodden family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
