Colleen Brumfield
Hall
Mar 26, 1928 — Oct 5, 2026
Blacksburg
Colleen Brumfield Hall, 98, of Montgomery County, Virginia, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 5, 2026.
Born on March 26, 1928, in Montgomery County, Virginia, Colleen spent her entire 98 years rooted in the community she loved. She was a woman of remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and abundant joy.
Colleen was a lifelong and devoted Christian and a faithful member of Christiansburg Baptist Church, where she served diligently and loved her church family dearly. Her life was a living testimony to the love, grace, mercy, and faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
Colleen worked her entire career for Bell Atlantic Telephone Company, from which she eventually retired. Outside of work and church, she found great happiness in the simple things she loved: tending to her flowers, especially her beloved orchids, growing tomatoes, and spending time with the people she loved most.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Benjamin Brumfield and Villa Lou Blevins, and her stepmother, Roxie Trout; her sisters, Irene, Virginia, Barbara, and Maxine; her husband, John Thomas Price, and her only son, Thomas Brian Price.
She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory, including her granddaughter, Julia Moore, Lance Moore; their children, Piper Clemons (Jake); Silar Moore (Rita); and Jasper Moore. Her grandson, Jason Price (Sherra), and their children, Ryan, Brayden, Logan and Kellan. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Ray Trout. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of two great-great-grandchildren, both expected in November, who will grow up hearing stories of the remarkable woman who loved them before they were born. She also leaves behind many extended family members, beloved friends, and a church family who will deeply miss her.
Above all, Colleen will be remembered as a woman who loved Jesus and loved people. She taught those closest to her about faith not merely through words, but through the way she lived. Her life was a testament to the goodness of God, even in the midst of unimaginable loss. Her wisdom, laughter, compassion, strength, and joy will live on in the generations she leaves behind.
Her family will forever be grateful for the privilege of loving her and witnessing even a small portion of the beautiful 98 year life God gave her. Though her absence leaves an ache that cannot be filled, they find comfort in knowing that she is finally home with the Savior she loved so dearly.
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” — James 1:12
