On July 2, 1992, God sent a firecracker to earth to inspire, enlighten, educate and to bring smiles to people's faces. He gained his angel wings on February 20, 2015 and joined his many friends and family including his beloved service dog Emeril and his grandfather, George "EI" Akers. He was a Class of 2014 graduate of Radford High School. He is survived by his Mom, Donna Akers of Dublin; his Dad and Stepmom, Wayne and Angie Frye of Radford; his amazing and light of his life sister and brother-in-law, Casey and Scott Hamblin of Christiansburg; his brand new niece, Cora Grace Hamblin; his Granny, Mary Akers of Dublin; his Granddaddy and Grandma, Bobby and Anna Frye of Radford; his Aunt Becky Dean, his caretaker and second Momma, and Uncle Allen Dean of Dublin;. Also surviving are uncles and aunts, Steve and Debbie Viers of Radford and Mark and Debbie Frye of Vinton; his younger, big brother, cousin Jess Dean and fiance Brooke Nicewonder of Bluefield; other special cousins, Josh Sechrist of Dublin, Jared Frye of Charlotte, NC and Joanna Frye of Roanoke. He also leaves behind his loyal and devoted service dog Buck; a multitude of friends; and his Pastor Lee Sarver. Cody was a faithful and devoted member of Walton Pentecostal Church where he had many, many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, February 23, 2015 at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Lee Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.
