Obituary

Clyde Ray Morris age 80 of the Snowville Community of Montgomery County passed away Thursday at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was a retired electrical engineer with Hercules having over 35 years of service, and he owned and operated Morris Repairs and was a gentleman farmer on his family farm until he passed. He was a member of the Radford Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Pendleton and Almy Phillips Morris. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dean Roop Morris; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lynn Morris of Snowville; two daughters and son-in-law, Dianne Morris of Snowville, Becky and Brent Chitwood of Royston, GA; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lee Carroll, Ruth and Hassell Boothe both of Christiansburg, Edith and Theodore Marshall, Radford, Nancy and Rodney Shelburne, Snowville, and Judy and Joe Wade of Childress, three sisters-in-law; Ilene and Bill Crigler, Evelyn Lasher, and Frankie Bowyer, four grandchildren, Abbi Jenkins, Miriam Wood, Fielding Morris and Whitney Morris, four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Radford Worship Center in Radford with Dr. Hal Adams and Rev. Glennard Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Saturday at the Radford Worship Center. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Radford Worship Center Food Bank 1820 Second Street, Radford, VA 24141. The Morris family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
