Claxton Willistack Houseman, 103 of Pulaski and formerly of Bluefield, WV, went on his final journey home on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. He was a lifetime member of Bluefield-Mercer, WV Masonic Lodge #85 AF & AM He was preceded home by his wife Ann Houseman and son Jack Houseman. He is survived by a devoted daughter-in-law Marie Houseman of Radford; his pride and joy his granddaughter Mitzi Barnett and her husband Wayne (who he fondly called Brother) of Radford; a special niece Helen Baxter of Gainesville; and numerous other special nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends Bob Croye, Columbus, OH and Dr. Henry and Vickie Higginbotham, Dublin. The family would like to say a very special Thank You to the nursing staff at Pulaski Health and Rehab for all their love, compassion, and care during the last months. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with visitation immediately following until 6:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton, WV where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Thanks to Rev. Gina Rhea who will conduct both services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, VA 24141.
