Claude Emory Hill, 87, of Fairlawn, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 27, 2013. He was a member of Fairlawn Church of God and retired from Hercules. He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Nellie Hill, sister, Doris Smith, brother, Howard Hill and grandson, Eric Altizer. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Adkins Lytton Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Judy Lytton of Christiansburg, and Greg and Rose Hill of Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Sherman Clark of Dublin, Sherlyn Lytton of Dublin, Rhonda Altizer and Gary Pauley of Dublin, and Valerie and David Pauley of Fairlawn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patty Hill, Faye and Mike Fisher, and Walter Tolley, all of Christiansburg; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Valorie Adams and the staff at Cozy Home Haven for the excellent care you provided to Dad. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Fairlawn Church of God with Pastor Terry Bowden and Bishop Marcus Harrison officiating. The funeral procession will include the Patriot Guard riders to Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Hill family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
