Christaleen Viers Simpkins, 93, of Radford, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Radford Nursing and Rehab. She was a member of the Radford Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Lemon Simpkins and four children. Survivors include three daughters, Julia Brightwell and special friend Randy Phillips, Taxi Fagg, and Eva Odell and her husband Tas; seven sons George T. Simpkins and his wife Malieta, Lee R. Simpkins, Joe Simpkins and his wife Sue, Avery Simpkins and his wife Shirley, Elwood Simpkins, J. D. Simpkins, and Brady Simpkins and his wife Judith; sisters Frances and Evelyn; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 11 am at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The Simpkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
