Cheri Dawn Linkous LaPrade, 45, of Christiansburg, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, September 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father John William "J.W." Linkous. Survivors include her mother, Ilectris D. Linkous; sons Jacob LaPrade and Alex LaPrade; grandson, Abel LaPrade; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Chad Duncan; nephew Cole Duncan; niece Mallory Duncan; and special friends Richard T. Brooks, Darlene Smith and Tammy Stiles. She also formed a special family at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital while battling leukemia. She dearly loved the doctors, nurses and staff on 10 South. There will be a visitation at Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church in New River on Saturday, September 21, 2013 beginning at 4:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm.
