Charles Edward Ratcliffe, 84 of Radford, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Ratcliffe and Mae A. Tipton, and three brothers Rev. Carl, Coeve and Darrell Ratcliffe. He attended Bains Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Ocie Bain Ratcliffe of Radford; three sons and daughter-in-law, David and Angela Ratcliffe of Christiansburg, James Ratcliffe of Christiansburg, and Jesse Ratcliffe of Florida; daughter and son-in-law Terry and Mike Barbour of Christiansburg; step-daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Melvin Brammer of Radford; five grandchildren including Michael Steven Barbour and his wife Kelly, Amanda Barbour Henley, and Justin Daniel Ratcliffe; one step-granddaughter Melanie Brammer; two sisters and brother-in-law Doris Hughes and Betty and Ray Richardson, all of Wilmington, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Bains Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jerry Sloss and Rev. David Bain officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Mullins Funeral Home. The Ratcliffe family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
