Carl Junior Thompson, 74, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Crawford C. and Lydia C. Thompson, his father and mother-in-law, Hubert and Dot Duncan, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arleen Duncan Thompson; daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Darrell Early of Charlestown, WV, and Nancy Turner of Radford; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Christi Thompson of Radford; granddaughters, Lindsey and Tiffani Vaughn, Samantha Turner, and Angel Thompson; grandson, Jesse Thompson; step grandson, Dillon Turman; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Arvil Duncan; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including Mack Martin and Joel Hart. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Baker, nurses Sara and Melodie of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and Intrepid Home Health and Carilion Hospice Care. Per his wishes, he was cremated with no funeral service. There will be a Gathering of Friends from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Montgomery Co. Humane Society, P.O. Box 287, Blacksburg VA, 24063.
