Carl Junior "C.J." Simpkins, 62, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home in Hiwassee. He was a welder with Long Airdox Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. George Truman Simpkins and Frances Simpkins and his wife, Frankie Sue Stafford Simpkins. Survivors include his brothers and sister-in-law, Danny Simpkins, and Russell and Terry Simpkins, all of Hiwassee; special friend, Lisa Shelton of Christiansburg; nieces, Deborah and Nikhil Dev of Hiwassee, and Sandra and Jessie Keen of Christiansburg; and many friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2015 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating.
