Bobby Leonard Spangler, 74, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his home in Dublin. He was a retired employee of the U. S. Government and a U. S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He loved his church family at Dublin United Methodist Church where he recently enjoyed hearing his youngest grandson sing. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing. His faithful canine companion Buddy was always close by and he spent as much time as possible surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Bob Spangler of Dublin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Rob Flint of Ft. Myers, FL, and Tina and Paul Routt of Wirtz; a son, Terry Spangler of Dublin; two sisters, Doris Reece of Radford and June Nester of Nesbitt, Mississippi; six grandchildren Ryan and Rob Flint, Jr., Holly and Hailey Spangler, and Jocelyn and Jaxon Routt; and one great-grandson, Nolin Spangler. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dublin United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Rowland, Rev. Joe McCoy and Rev. Rob Flint, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the church.
