SFC Bobby James Dobbins, Retired US Army, 71, of Radford, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He was retired from the U. S. Army with 23 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Gael Cantler Dobbins; daughter Lisa Arlene Dobbins of Radford; son Douglas James Dobbins of Radford; four grandchildren Aimee Cecilia Tangtong, Marcus Ray Tangtong, Jessica Lynn Repass and Preston James Wayne Repass; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Mavis Putt Dobbins of Radford; sister Dorothy Irene Wilson of Baltimore, MD; and two faithful chocolate labs, Fudge and Dusty, who miss him already. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2 pm on Monday, August 15, 2011 with the service following at Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford with Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The Dobbins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
