Billy Ray Dobbins, 71, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at his home in Dublin. He was a machinist and a U. S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Freeda A. Dobbins, and a brother Ed Dobbins. Survivors include his wife, Peggy McGhinnis Dobbins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Barbie Dobbins and Daren and Rhonda Dobbins; three grandchildren, Matthew Dobbins and his wife Keri, Nicole Dobbins and Brandon Dobbins; a great-grandson, Lucas Dobbins; and a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Vonda Dobbins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Jim Angle and Rev. Terry Bowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Honors. The Dobbins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
